Beware of Ticks: Can Cause Lyme Disease

Will a Hot Tub help with Lyme Disease?

Lyme Disease, caused by a tiny tick bite, can spawn havoc on the body. While treatable, with an antibiotic, the symptoms of fatigue, tingling pain and joint pain that resembles Rheumatoid Arthritis can continue months after treatment. The Center for Disease Control refers to it as Post Treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome (PTLDS).

Hot Tubs can help alleviate some of the discomfort. When in warm water, buoyancy relieves pressure on the joints allowing easier movement and prevents joint stiffness. Sweating releases toxins and time in the hot tub relaxes the body, aiding in a better night sleep.

Sleep is necessary for healing.  When we sleep the brain releases hormones so tissue growth and repair can occur. Sleep also helps to keep our mood up.  Lyme Disease can rob us of our joy and get us down.

A hot tub offers many benefits including hydro massages, relaxation and time with family and friends.  While these can help relieve some Lyme Disease symptoms, some Lyme patients can be heat sensitive.  Rin Robyn Pools always recommends you to speak in detail to your health care provider about your individual symptoms and treatment.
